Vintage Crockery Hire for weddings and tea parties FAQs

Where do you hire to?

We can hire anywhere! Obviously, the further away you are, the higher the delivery and collection fees will be! We are based in Bedworth, Warwickshire.

How much is delivery and collection?

We charge 0.40p per mile, although you get 20 miles included in your order free of charge.

Do you deliver and collect the crockery direct to our venue?

Yes, we personally deliver it to your venue. We usually deliver it on a Friday for a Saturday wedding and pick it up on Monday. Of course, we are very flexible and work around you though!

Do we get to pick the crockery?

Due to our large selection of crockery, we usually just pick it for you. If you would really like to pick it though and select specific items this can be arranged by prior appointment. This service will be charged at a flat rate of £45.00, as our collection is extensive.

Do you wash the items or do we have to?

It's up to you! We can wash all of the crockery for you which will be charged at 15% of the total of your booking or you can do it. Please note that our crockery is not suitable for a dishwasher and it must be washed by hand.

What happens if we break an item?

If you break or lose an item of crockery, we will deduct the appropriate amount from your re-fundable damage deposit. Please see our terms and conditions for prices.

Do you hire out to any types of events?

Yes! We hire out to weddings, christenings, baby showers, family gatherings, birthday parties, funerals. You name it, we do it! All our crockery is also available for photo shoots.

There are lots of other vintage crockery companies out there now, why should we pick you?

Because, like you, we love vintage! No, really, we offer exceptional customer service, we have some absolutely gorgeous crockery and it is a full-time business, unlike some competitors who have it as a 'hobby' (no disrespect!). We are also very competitively priced and are constantly looking to keep our prices down and have special offers throughout the year. There's also no other vintage crockery company that has a vintage caravan available for hire!

Can we ever see you at a wedding fair?

Yes, we display our products in October and February at The Milton Keynes Wedding Show. We usually have special offers so it's worth visiting our stand!

How soon do I need to make a booking?

As soon as possible for 2010 - the diary is starting to fill up for popular months already. We can always hold the date for 10 days whilst you finalise arrangements if need be.

I'd really like to book… what should I do next?

Please contact us! You can either call us or send an email. Please let us know where your venue is and how many guests will be attending your event. We will then send you a quote and let you know what to do next.

Prices start from £49. Please contact us for an exact quote.

Is there a cost for delivery and collection of the vintage caravan?

Yes. Our towing charge is charged at £1.40 per mile for delivery and collection. We are based in Bedworth, Warwickshire. Provide us with your location and we’ll give you a precise quote.

I’d love to use the vintage caravan for a photo shoot for my company, is this possible?

Yes, it is! Please provide us with details of your company, where you would like the photo shoot to take place and what other requirements you have. We will then get back to you with a quote tailored to your needs.

Is food or drink allowed in the caravan?

For photo shoots, yes it is. If you are hiring it for an event such as a wedding though, food and drink is not permitted in the caravan.

Does the caravan come with what’s shown on the photos?

If you want, we can put fresh country flowers in the caravan along with a few vintage accessories. We can also supply you with bunting. If you wish to dress the outside of the caravan with enamel buckets, wicker baskets, vintage suitcases, a tin bath etc this will be an additional charge. Feel free to discuss this with us. Once you have clicked on the button to 'Confirm Order' you have offered to buy the item(s) at the price indicated on the website, including any delivery charges that apply to your purchase. If your order is accepted, you will be notified of this soon after you have clicked on 'Confirm Order' by automatic email. Despite our best efforts to ensure that all order details are correct at the time of the confirmation email, errors may occur and we therefore reserve the right to cancel where the order details prove to be incorrect. You will own the items we supply you from the moment they are delivered to the delivery address given to us on your order. How much do you charge for Postage and Packaging?

Postage and packing for all orders is calculated on the weight and size of the order and charged at the actual cost of postage plus a charge to cover packaging. Postage and packaging starts from £3.95. Orders over £200 will receive free postage and packaging.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Orders will be dispatched within 3 working days. Please allow 7 days from ordering for delivery of goods. We will let you know by email if there is a delay for any reason within our control but we cannot be held responsible for delays occurring once an order has left our premises.

I am not happy with my item and I would like a refund.

We trust you will be completely satisfied with your purchase. Unless an item has been grossly misrepresented, returns will not be accepted - although statutory rights apply. In exceptional circumstances we may agree to the return of an item but this is expressly at our discretion and only following our written agreement of the same. Any items accepted for return by us will be refunded less postage and packaging costs. In the event of gross misrepresentation, a full refund including P&P; charges will be made.

What happens if my cake stand or tea cup candle arrives broken?

We will package your item(s) in a strong box with ample protection to ensure it will be safe in transit. As soon as your item(s) is shipped they become your responsibility for insurance and breakage purposes. In the unlikely event of a cake stand breakage occurring in transit we will try to replace the plate with a similar type of plate for you, but please note this is a gesture to make sure you are satisfied rather than a guarantee and may not be achievable due to the one off nature of the plates we source. If issuing a new plate, we will require a photo as proof of breakage.

There are small blemishes on the cake stand I ordered...

All our items in the shop are vintage – this means they are old. The gilding on the plates is quite often worn, as is the decoration. We think this adds to the charm. If you are looking for a perfect ‘brand new’ looking piece, these would not be suitable for you! We try our best to describe any imperfections for each item. Although we try to ensure our photos are as close to the true colours of the cake stand as possible, there are sometimes minor differences in colour.

Can I put my cake stand in the dishwasher?

Cake stands should not be placed in a dishwasher as they are vintage china. They should be washed by hand carefully. We make no guarantee on the china ongoing as it could be decades old.

I have some plates of my own and would like them made into a cake stand, is this possible?

Yes, please contact us and we will give you a cost depending on how many plates you have.
